Welcome to U-Rope International Steeltraders. My name is Peter Roorda, and I’m the founder of U-Rope. My whole working life, I have been active in the steelbusiness only. This developed a strong background within the steelindustry.

It all started in the summer of 1988. In this period of time, I was part of the team that established a brand new Steel Service Center in Maastricht. After a couple of years I left and made the switch to non-prime steel, working as an international steeltrader in Antwerp. In the mid nineties, I co-founded a non-prime steel company with a colleague trader. After 5 successful years we decided to seperate our ways due to a difference in the future vision. U-Rope was born in the year 2000 and still growing ever since.

We are based in the south of Holland, which is perfectly situated between the Antwerp and Rotterdam docks. This allows us to source and sell from mainland Europe. We buy and sell all kinds of mainly non-primes; old stocks, excess stocks and damaged stocks. We check, we inspect and will always offer an interesting price with attractive conditions.

Our main goal is to satisfy our suppliers as well as our customers in the best possible way. Each contract is seen as a cooperation with us and not as a one-sided business deal. In todays digital world, U-Rope makes the difference with a personal touch.
